Commercial Description:
Dry Town Gin, made by Old Elk Distillery pays homage to Fort Collins’ past in a somewhat ironic fashion**. Head Distiller Kate Douglas says “we macerate juniper, orris root and fresh cut oranges for 18 hours, then put that liquid into the pot.” The other seven botanicals in Dry Town Gin are in the basket. “It took us 64 runs before we dialed in… we really wanted a gin that could stand up in any cocktail.”
Tasting Notes
Very citrusy on the nose at first Dry Town Gin leads with a orange, sweet lime, then hints of lemon leaves and kaffir lime leaves. It opens up with a short time and a spicy, slightly Asian spice undertone emerges. I really enjoy the nose on this gin.
